ADA Truncated Domes History
The founders of RampDome Systems, LLC developed their architectural lightweight concrete truncated domes as an improvement on existing detectable warning systems. Initial cost and replacement are significantly less than the currently used rubber strips or cast-in-place products and over time, the domes require much less maintenance. All are factors that make the RampDome detectable warning surface noticeably more cost effective, particularly over the long term. That benefit alone has public works agencies, developers, and construction companies who are becoming familiar with the new product understandably excited about incorporating them into their specs. Various cities across Phoenix Metropolitan area have already started installing the RampDome product and approval by ADOT and McDOT confirm confidence in the product.

Detectable warning surface Testimonials
“We have found RampDome Systems to be far superior to any other truncated domes we have used. When we install the frame before the concrete is poured, we are able to check and confirm that the slope in the ramp area is within ADA guidelines. When the job is near completion, the panels can be quickly and easily installed. An additional benefit is the future cost savings for repairs and replacement. We can quickly remove or replace the domes without difficulty at about half the cost of any other system. We intend to use RampDome Systems exclusively.”
