Your ADA Truncated Dome Solution.

RampDome Systems ADA truncated domes Installation Procedures

The following procedures ensure the most effective application possible for the ADA truncated domes which create the ADA detectable warning surface. By using this method, you will save on remove and replacement costs of your ADA detectable warning systems:

Starting point for ADA detectable warning surface. STEP 1
Metal frames (2’x4’, 2’x5’, 2’x6’, or 2’x8’, 2’x10’) have been designed to effectively and securely hold the panels of ADA truncated domes in place. Set frame to grade prior to sidewalk pour.
Individual panels of ADA truncated domes gives you great flexibility in design of the ADA required ADA detectable warning surface. STEP 6
Lower down and set ADA detectable warning system panels (125 lbs ea.) in using mule tape. The fit is tight; therefore, the tape is recommended for ease of installation. Even out panels making sure each panel is placed evenly.

RampDome's ADA truncated domes panels require minimal training for your crew. STEP 2
Pour concrete and finish off neatly.
ADA truncated domes panels come in standard colors or can be manufactured to your specific needs. STEP 7
Sweep extra sand into joints to fill small seams.

Rampdome's ADA detectable warning system works within your current concrete materials and procedures.

Time requirements for installing ADA truncated domes panels do not extend your time on a project.
STEP 3
Allow concrete to set up enough to walk on before installing the panels.

STEP 4
Distribute ½” sand in base of framed concrete.
ADA regulations for ADA detectable warning surfaces require a contrast between the ADA detectable warning surface and the surrounding area. STEP 8
Stabilize sand between ADA detectable warning system  panels using either Seal Lock superior masonry liquid sealer or  polymer sand. This added  sand fill protection ensures  exceptional resistance from heavy rain or water trucks. Seal-Lock stabilizer will NOT cement panels in place, as with  mortar, allowing easy  removal for repairs. Seal-Lock will also  enhance the color of the panels while improving  the durability and  resistance to the elements. Seal-Lock is available at your local concrete specialties store.

Installation of RampDome's ADA detectable warning system requires no special equipment. STEP 5
Grade the sand evenly using with a sand jig or a Rampdome Sand Screed.
RampDome Systems' ADA truncated domes meet ADA requirements while maintaining the aesthetic appearance of your project. STEP 9
Finished ADA detectable warning surface.

As you can see by installation, removal and replacement of a single ADA truncated domes panel is easy. Simply pop out the cracked panel and replace with new panel. No mess, no tearing out of entire ramp – one panel at a time!
